Happy Fall Everybody!

Fall is officially here! I am sure you can tell by all the rain we have had the last week. Despite the gloomy weather, we have been having a ton of fun celebrating the change in season. Just last week, we partnered up with Mr. Mallinson's class, signed out our school iPADs and spent some time outdoors photographing some of the changes of the seasons.

We also completed some colourful artwork to display on our classroom walls.

This week , we changed our focus towards "APPLES". We created a diagram of an apple and labelled the parts. Next, we made some 3D apples showing the life cycle of an apple tree (these are currently hanging in our classroom). Lastly, we learned and sang some fun songs about apples. however, we are not finished our study just yet. Next week, we will be completing our study of apples with a fun "Apple Investigation Day"!

One of our favourite stories this week has been "Ten Apples Up On Top" by Theo LeSieg also known as Dr. Seuss.

We also found this cute song based on the story and have been listening and singing it throughout the day.

In the area of Math, the Kindergartens and Grade Ones we have been improving their patterning skills as well as their number recognition skills. The Grade Ones will be moving onto addition and subtraction next week, which I am sure they will find fun and challenging.

Don't forget! - The Grade Ones will have their first spelling quiz tomorrow and I am sure each and every one of them will do extremely well.

See you all tomorrow!
-Mrs. Singh
